Earlier this week, Oni Press published a disturbing teaser for its long term Rick and Morty The comic book series (Oni Press made Rick and Morty The comics for more than a decade now) with Rick and Morty meet “the end”. The fans were naturally very concerned, and now, Oni Press reveals what it means, but it seems that it really means a real end for Rick and Morty in Oni Press.
First of all, however, there will be a mini-series entitled Rick and Morty: the end By the writer Daniel Kibblesmith and the artist Jarrett Williams, which will take place for six numbers, from December. What then comes, however, is much more difficult to say.
What is Rick and Morty: the end?
Currently at Oni Press, Kibblesmith runs a massive cross event called Rick and Morty against the universewhere Rick and Morty have angry their old universe as well as the current universe in which they live (known as the Parmesan universe because everything is the same except that people pronounce “Parmesan” as “by-Mee-zee-An”))
Oni Press describes the new series as follows:
Rick Sanchez, the most sought after man in this universe and in all other universes, is on the run. With a bonus on its head, each government, military, pirate, gangster, bonus hunter, guarantee, religious institution, theater troupe, circus clown and endangered species is hunting to call on Rick – Dead or Alive. The only one who can bring Rick to hot is the only person who knows him best: Morty Smith. But Morty is not the only hot Smith on Rick’s path. . . “Space Beth” Smith is determined to bring Rick, and she does not care particularly in the way. Now, it’s just a question of knowing that can reach it first …!
Is this the end of the road for Rick and Morty to Oni Press?
Although it certainly looks like a cool story, it does not sound so different from many past adventures of Rick and Morty, perhaps on a larger scale. However, ONI Press’s press release for history also included a line that still seems particularly disturbing.
This title is not a kind of clever metaphor, people! After 10 years and more than 100 numbers, the start of the end begins here as an acclaimed writer Daniel Kibblesmith (Loki) and the artistic Annihilator Jarrett Williams (Speed Force) are preparing to release an incredibly fatal final for Rick and Morty!
If the title is actually not a metaphor, it seems to suggest that Rick and Morty could end his license at Oni Press after more than a decade. We will only know it when this series ends.
Rick and Morty: the end # 1 must be released on December 3, 2025.
