Edgar Wright breaks down the reboot tracks and reflects on the reception of Schwarzenegger’s blessing

The first trailer for The racing man Run online earlier during the dayAnd Entertainment Weekly (via Sffgazette.com) has since caught up with the filmmaker Edgar Wright and the distribution of the film to find out more about what to expect this last adaptation of the novel by Stephen King.
The site explains that the film begins when the construction worker of Powell, Ben Richards, is forced to participate in a television game where competitors are responsible for surviving as long as he can in an America where anyone who is authorized to kill them. The game ends after 30 days, the more they survive, the more they earn money.
The catch is that no one went so far because they are quickly killed by a group of trackers and assassins called the hunters (who are employed by the all-powerful conglomerate, the network).
Richards maintains to get the money he and his wife Sheila (Jayme Lawson) need for the medicine of their sick daughter, which makes the issues higher than ever. As Wright explains, Richards is “You are looking to go to the network building to access a different emission, to get fast money. Then, a series of incidents leads it to become a main candidate for the man in the course of execution.”
The network is managed by Dan Killian by Josh Brolin, who describes his character as “A guy who has essentially created this show, directs this show, and likes to create any scenario that he can make sure that more people enveloped emotionally in the show, whatever the consequences.”
Lee Pace McCon leads hunters, with the Galaxy goalkeepers The star calls him “A kind of murderous ghost that follows Richards through history, trying to murder him, but also trying to make a show for the American public.”
Colman Domingo, on the other hand, assumes the role of Bobby T, the host of the television show “The Running Man”. The actor based his performance on Jerry Springer and calls his character “The most famous celebrity in the world is why we must make sure that it shines in any way, with its diamonds and its jewelry and its Jacob & Co. watch.”
The actors are Martin Herlihy and Katy O’Brian as more “runners”, as well as the black merchant of William H. Macy and Emilia Jones, who “Comes into contact with Ben Richards at a particularly dangerous stage in the film,” explains Wright.
As for the role of Michael Cera, the Scott Pilgrim against the world Helmer says, “He plays a character who is in the book, Elton. I think what he does in the film is a little surprising, perhaps from his previous performances. It was such a pleasure to be with him and also just to see him and Glen Powell together. It is a very improbable duo that it was really fun to attend.”
King gave Wright and Powell his blessing, just like the star of the original film of 1987, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The duo jumped on zoom with the emblematic actor, an experience that the filmmaker describes as “Incredible. We wanted to make a sign of the big man in the film – I will not say what it was – and we somehow need his approval for that.”
“Glen was in cinema with Arnold; he was in Expendables 3, and he knew [his son] Patrick. I said, “We have to talk to Arnold. It was an incredible call. Obviously, sometimes, when people make new adaptations of films, it’s a bit of a delicate situation, ” Wright continued. “He made us say:” Of all my films that I made, I always felt that it was the one who would be a good remake, and I think you are all set up to do it. “He mainly gave us his blessing, and it was an incredibly sweet thing to do.”
The racing man was a deeply wrong adaptation of King’s novel, and although she was loved by some, Arnie was not false when he said that the equipment was worth taking another crack. With the Powell star still increasing, it has all the shows of a new classic.
The racing man Open November 7. New fixed images of the film can be found by following the link in the post X below.
