Restarting “ cliffhanger ” obtains an American distribution agreement with the new line of the Buyer K

EXCLUSIVE: In an eight -digit agreement, understood as the largest in this year TIFF market so far, the new American distributor Row K has brought rights to the Cliffhanger Restart with Pierce Brosnan and Lily James.

The reimagination of the 1993 classic, produced by Jaume Collet-Serra (Continue)is currently in post-production and is doubled for a theatrical version on the 3,000-screen screen in 2026.

The film will follow a seasoned mountaineer, Ray Cooper (Brosnan), who exploits a luxury chalet in the Dolomites with his daughter, Sydney. During a weekend with a billionaire son, they are targeted by a gang of kidnappers. Ray’s other daughter, Naomi (James), still haunted by a past climbing accident, witnesses the attack and escapes. To save her family, she must face her fears and fight for survival.

The photo is written by Ana Lily Amirpour, Sascha Penn, Mark Bianculli and Melanie Toast. The producers include Lars Sylvest with thanks, Joe Neurauter de Supernix, Thorsten Schumacher of Rocket Science and Neal Moritz and Toby Jaffe.

The acquisition has been negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers by CAA Media Finance, which represents interior rights. Rocket science manages international sales.

The agreement marks the third takeover of Tiff from Row K Thread of the dead man With Bill Skarsgård, Dacre Montgomery, Cary Elwes, Myha’la, Colman Domingo and Al Pacino, and Tom Dean and Mac Eldridge’s Charlie Harper With Nick Robinson and Emilia Jones.
