The real first-year quarter-backing Bryce Underwood, the best national recruit in the 2025 class, will start for the Wolverines of Michigan when the season was opened at home on Saturday evening against the New Mexico, according to several media.
Michigan is expected to make an official announcement on Monday, reports.
Underwood, from Michigan, overthrew his lsu commitment to Wolverines last November. He would be the first real recruit to start for Michigan since Tate Forcier in 2009.
Davis Warren and Mikey Keene, the latter from Fresno State, were also faced with the start of departure. Warren guided Michigan to a 3-0 finish in 2024, notably victories on the possible national champion and Arch Rival Ohio State and Alabama in the Lectiaquest Bowl, and he still recalls a knee injury suffered in the Bowl match.
Underwood, listed at 6 feet 4 inches and 228 pounds, was a five -star perspective and the best global player in the country in class 2025, according to the classification of the 247sports composite.
Start of four years in Belleville High School, Underwood went 50-4 with state titles in 2021 and 2022. It was credited with 12,919 versatile yards, including 11,488 overtaking yards and 179 affected in total (152 passes).
The national player of the year of Gatorade was selected as a junior in 2023-24.
