Report: The search for PGA Tour CEO focuses on Brian Rolapp
One of the NFL senior executives could move on.
Ben Fischer of Journal of Sports Affairs reports that the media chief and the business manager of the NFL Brian Rolapp “has become the clear favorite“To become the new CEO of the PGA Tour. Fischer cites sources both in the world of golf and football. At least five sources told Fischer that it was “likely” that Rolapp will end up in this role.
ROLAPP first emerged as a candidate for the post Early 2024.
Some have suggested that Rolapp, who has been working for the NFL since 2003 and who has occupied his current job since 2014, could succeed Roger Goodell as a commissioner of the NFL. And the departure of Rolapp would not necessarily do it from the list. He would obtain key experience as a person in the end of a sports organization while the mandate of Goodell continues, without clear expiration date in view.
With Goodell New to another new contractThe keyword seems to be the succession. Rolapp can, in theory, stay in the mixture without staying in the building. It is undoubtedly the best of both worlds – and much better than the prospect of staying, not to obtain promotion and to have a new boss who might want a new person who directs the media operations of the NFL.
Especially since the media operations of the NFL change spectacularly if / when most multimedia assets of the NFL are sold in ESPN.
