Detroit Lions running back David Montgomery is expected to play against the Minnesota Vikings on Thursday despite an illness, NFL Network reported.
Montgomery did not participate in Tuesday’s practice and was limited in Wednesday’s practice before being listed as questionable to play in the game.
Star Jahmyr Gibbs will likely shoulder the lion’s share of the workload in the backfield for Detroit (8-7), which is trying to keep its playoff hopes alive against Minnesota (7-8) in Minneapolis.
Montgomery has totaled 649 yards and eight touchdowns in 15 games this season.
