Reno police responded to the shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort, suspect in detention

Reno, nev. (News 4 & Fox 11) – Several people were injured during a shooting at the Grand Sierra Resort on Monday morning. People are invited to avoid the area.
The Police Department of Reno (RPD) responded to the report of an active shooter at the Grand Sierra Resort at 7:25 am on July 28.
The police found the suspect in 4 to 5 minutes and a shooting involving an officer occurred outside the valet. The authorities say that the suspect has been transported to hospital and that there is no threat to the public. The magnitude of the suspect’s injuries is unknown at the time and his name has not been released.
The authorities say that there are several victims with different levels of injury, they work to ensure that everyone is taken into account before an exact number is published.
Several police officers were involved and some suffered minor injuries, but they were not slaughtered.
The shooting occurred mainly outside the front door and in the valet with the north side of the parking lot. The authorities say that the area will be closed for a while.
The Sparks police service will investigate the officer’s shooting.
Reno’s city councilor, Devon Reese, went to social networks expressing condolences for multiple lives lost in the shooting. News 4-Fox 11 awaits confirmation of RPD concerning deaths.
