BCCI to choose Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in Odi Squad on October 4
The Cricket Control Council selection committee in India (BCCI) will meet on Saturday October 4 to choose the ODI and T20I teams for the Australian tour. They are ready to appoint Rohit and Kohli in the ODI team in the midst of intense speculation about their future in Indian cricket.
“The selectors are likely to sit on Saturday, on the third day of the first current test against the Antilles in Ahmedabad, to choose the teams. But there is not yet clarity on the team’s announcement,” read the PTI report.
Recently, Kohli and Rohit returned to training and worked very hard in the gymnasium and the nets to prepare for the tour in Australia after having moved away from competitive cricket. They also succeeded in fitness tests carried out by the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) to declare their availability for the ODI series against the Australians.

Earlier, some reports suggest that the Captain of Rohit is threatened, the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI) seeking to give the reins to Shubman Gill of the ODI team.
However, the PTI report says that the BCCI is not in a mood to dismiss Rohit Sharma because it has performed well with the bat, and the team is also doing well under its direction.
“There is also no reason to withdraw Rohit from the role of leadership because there has little failure in this format unless he himself wants to focus on his striker,” added the report.
In particular, Rohit has lost a lot of weight and has maximized its levels of fitness in the eye on the Men’s Men’s Men’s Cup of the CPI 2027, which will be played in African countries. It will be interesting to see if Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli are considered for the next World Cup of next 50. However, currently, the BCCI is not concerned and focuses on the T20 2026 World Cup.
“The priority at the moment is based with the T20 World Cup at the start of next year at home and winning the maximum WTC points of the four home tests in 2025,” added the report.
