Red Dead Redemption 2’s Mexico map will soon be ours to explore

Being able to explore Mexico in Red Dead Redemption 2 has always seemed like a white whale situation. Although fans have found ways to travel to the country over the years, the landscape is virtually empty. Now, thanks to a group of dedicated fans, a map of Mexico will be fully explorable in RDR2 via a massive upcoming mod.
As posted by user zoyser on the RDR2 On the Reddit page, there is an upcoming mod called Nuevo Paraíso that will unblock Mexico on the map. The description says: “Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier, a large-scale mod for Red Dead 2 that rebuilds the Mexico region from RDR1 with new missions, settlements and full global integration“.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Fans Working on Mexico Expansion
The fan team working on “Nuevo Paraíso – The Forgotten Frontier” said the game would be set in 1907 and include reconstructed versions of towns like Chuparosa. “Unique vegetation and NPC behaviors“, side missions and other locations are also promised. The new mod will also have “content comparable to DLC“.
His timeline placement will follow when RDR2 is taking place, and it appears that the expansion will aim to maintain continuity with the base game. Overall, this looks like a very promising mod for one of Rockstar’s most popular games.
As of now, the mod is still in development and no release date for its arrival on Nexus Mods has been given. For now, it is only available on PC. The full trailer can be viewed above.
The Mexican mod is not the first of its kind
In time since RDR2 released, fans have figured out how to get to Mexico and released mods allowing you to access certain parts of the country. Since it’s been 7 years, it’s very unlikely that Rockstar will ever release official DLC in Mexico, so these fan-made mods are the next best thing.
Although this is not the first time that a Mexican mod has appeared, it arguably seems to be the most complete. Using RDR1On the Mexico map, it should contain many settlements and side missions, as well as unique NPCs and flora and fauna. There’s a lot to be excited about here, so I hope the Nuevo Paraíso expansion for Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released as soon as possible.
