East Rutherford, New Jersey, July 4 (Reuters) – Borussia Dortmund occupies the role of oppressed in their quarter -final of the Club World Cup against Real Madrid, said coach Niko Kovac on Friday, while the side of Bundesliga aims to avenge his final defeat of the Champions League a year ago.

Dortmund is climbing up at a sequence of 11 undefeated games, but faces difficult chances against the Laliga team in the hot heat at East Rutherford, New Jersey on Saturday, where Kovac is waiting for a crowded house with a difficult crowd.

The players “know exactly what it means to play against Real Madrid tomorrow,” he told journalists at the Metlife Stadium.

“We expect a lot of supporters, especially for Real Madrid. We are here as an oppressed, but we also want to show our best face and I hope – that’s what we believe – we can go to the next round.”

Real Madrid is undefeated against Dortmund in their last six games, after winning their last four, including their 2-0 victory in the Champions League final last year.

The German team hopes that they will be able to return the chances after entering something from a revival since Kovac took the bar in February. The Croatian manager said that his team operated on the “highest level” of confidence against Real Madrid.

“We need great self-confidence when we face Real Madrid,” he said.

“We finished the fourth season (in the Bundesliga season), but it was a photo, and we had difficult games to play.

“We have played big opponents and the players, they showed that they were able to compete with everyone. So, I think that is a great reason for me to believe in my players – they know exactly what is necessary tomorrow to be at the highest level.” (Report by Amy Tennery to East Rutherford, New Jersey)
