Real Madrid against Borussia Dortmund: World Club in the quarter -final – Live updates | Club World Cup 2025

Key events
1 min: We are in progress!
Team photos have been taken, and these are the two teams in their classic kits: Dortmund in yellow, Real Madrid in all white. The flags are out of the field. “The Business” plays very hard. Let’s be amazed.
The crowd of Metlife fills up, but slowly. I think I am here, but this stage could really use a roof.
The nozzle have stopped sprinkling, and the many FIFA volunteers are on the ground preparing to reveal very large flags. The kick -off is close.
The Borussia Dortmund range
Niko Kovač juggled her five before a little in the absence of a Bellingham Jobe due to the accumulation of yellow card. Marcel Sabitzer enters the team after starting the 2-1 victory of the previous Tour against Monterrey on the bench, while Felix Nmancha is abandoned with Julian Brandt.
Goalkeeper: Gregor Kobel
Defenders: Julian Ryerson, Ramy Benzabaini, Niklas Süle, Waldemar Anton, Daniel Svensson
Milieuseurs de terrain: Pascal Groß, Marcel Sabitzer
Advances: Julian Brandt, Karim Adeyemi, Serhou Guirassy
Again, the 5-2-3 is the way FIFA lists this range. The reality will be much more fluid, Ryerson and Svensson joining the attack at will of their respective wings, and at least one of the Brandt, Adeyemi and Guirassy who were spread out to support the fields of field.
The Real Madrid range
Xabi Alonso sticks to the same starters who won 1-0 V Juventus in the last round to bring them here. Kylian Mbappé remains on the bench, which makes sense given the great shape that Gonzalo García has shown so far and the continuous recovery of Mbappé of gastroenteritis, for which he was briefly hospitalized earlier this tournament.
Goalkeeper: Thibaut Courtois
Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Antonio Rüdiger, Dean Huijsen, Fran García
Milieuseurs de terrain: Jude Bellingham, Aurelien Tchouameni, Hook Güler, Federico Valverde
Advances: Vinicius Jr, Gonzalo García
The 4-4-2 is the way in which the XI is listed by FIFA, but one could imagine that it will be a little more fluid than that.
In case you overturned this match, waiting to see a confrontation on the field between Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid and his brother, the new signature of Borussia Dortmund, Jobe Bellingham, well … I am afraid of having bad news. Jobe’s yellow card in the previous match means that he is suspended for this competition – a fact that he apparently did not learn before going down the tunnel at halftime.
Dortmund director Niko Kovač said there are more opportunities for the brothers and sisters to face each other.
“He is young. His brother is also young, so I am convinced that they are facing each other, perhaps next season in the Champions League, then the future. The future is for them.”
Hello everyone, Alex Abnos Vive here on site at Metlife Stadium for the last quarter -final of the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 – (PAS) Derby Bellingham between Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund. It should be great.
Having just made a quick walk in the perimeter of the stadium, I can point out that it is certainly hot – maybe even increasing “hot”. But it is far from the heat felt in the NY / NJ zone earlier in the tournament. It’s a great day, really.
Alex will be here shortly. In the meantime, here is Sid Lowe’s latest dispatch.
