‘Real Housewives’ Star Wendy Osefo Breaks Silence After Arrest

The Real Housewives of Potomac Star Wendy Osefo has broken her silence following her arrest on fraud charges earlier this month.

“And through it all, GOD remains faithful,” the public affairs academic turned TV personality wrote on Instagram. “Thank you for the outpouring of love, support and prayers for myself and especially my family during this time. We will be forever grateful🙏🏾.”

She continued in the post, which features a glamorous photo of herself set to gospel singer Koryn Hawthorne’s track “Look At God,”: “Tune in to @bravotv tonight for a new episode of #RHOP.”

Osefo and her husband, Eddie Osefo, were indicted and charged with a series of felony fraud charges from October 9 to October 16, to be exact, which include seven felonies for allegedly making false and/or misleading insurance claims. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of making a false statement to an officer. According to TMZ, who first reported the news, the couple claimed they were robbed while they were on vacation last April. The reality star claimed jewelry and handbags were stolen, but police later saw her wearing a diamond ring that she reported stolen. The duo filed an insurance claim for $450,000 in property loss, documents show. The Osefos spent one night behind bars in Westminster, Maryland, before posting bail totaling $100,000.

After the news broke, Bravo pulled the first episode of Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition, the spin-off series which was to feature Osefo and his family at its center. Now airing a week later on October 21, the episode will feature The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Angie Katsanevas instead, with Osefo’s episode indefinitely delayed.

Wife swap presents stars of The Real Housewives franchise trading places with ordinary mothers.

Osefo is one of several stars confirmed for BravoCon next month in Las Vegas; however, it is not yet known whether it will still be present.

The Real Housewives of Potomac kicked off its 10th season with a supersized premiere on October 5. Alongside Osefo, who joined the series in 2020, stars include Gizelle Bryant, Ashley Darby, Stacey Rusch and Keiarna Stewart. This season also features newcomers Tia Glover and Angel Massie, as well as the returns of Jassi Rideaux and Monique Samuels.
