This weekend saw one of the most brazen heists in history, when thieves made off with nine of France’s crown jewels from Le Lourve in broad daylight. The sheer audacity of the crime, combined with the fact that the thieves chose what is arguably one of the worst times to pull off a heist, is what makes this story worth watching. If the world wanted a more interesting heist story set in Francehe could always return to the hit Netflix detective series, Lupine.

Lupine takes its name and premises from the stories of Arsène Lupine from Maurice Leblancto the point that the protagonist Assane Diop (Omar Sy) is modeled on the gentleman thief.
