The costumes of “Megan 2” were inspired by Farrah Fawcett and Judy Jetson

Farrah Fawcett and Judy Jetson served as inspirations for the new “M3gan 2.0” looks.

The killer doll is back. This time with a new task: eliminating a robot rogue named Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), which threatens to destroy humanity.

Costume designer Jeriana San Juan found herself to have to create contrasting looks: the prepaid and fierce aesthetics of M3gan, and a fatal woman for Amelia.

San Juan says: “Amelia must operate with a sensitivity of the soldier as a civil soldier, and there are opportunities where his objective is to seduce and disarm by seduction. This is where this idea of a glamorous image Farrah Fawcett comes from. This is what inspires his look. ” She added: “I wanted to integrate her color story into tactical colors that are between the lines of neutrals so that she can move a little more unnoticed in the world.”

While dolls are fighting in various futuristic clothes, innovative glamor becomes a centerpiece when M3gan, Gemma (Allison Williams), Cady (McGraw Violet), Cole (Brian Jordan Alvarez) and Tess (Jen Van Eppps) find themselves face to face with Amelia during an AI convention. While the team chooses to remain incognito in the neon costumes, M3gan steals the outfits of one of the dancers who perform in the Convention to blend, where she ends up dancing on stage in front of a technological audience to target Amelia.

San Juan describes M3gan’s armor’s look as “all tinted plastics molded under vacuum. I presented the idea that all the robots are colored with candies so that it looked like an idea of a playful doll of a robot. He became Gundam meeting Judy Jetson, “says San Juan. “I also allowed this first passionate interaction with robotics, which was with my transparent game boy from the 1990s.”

While M3gan hides in the city in her robotic dress, he revealed that she was looking at the inside of Gemma’s house without her physical robotic body, where she studied and analyzed how Cady and Gemma have developed individually since her absence. “With this feeling of maturity, how does she want to see herself?” I wanted to give him ways and give him an idea of a little more maturity, with artistic and clothing growth, ”recalls San Juan. “In the first film, her goal was to be a doll and be a companion inspired by the American girl for Cady. This time, she has more at stake in her own visual identity. I distilled this in this image of a second wave feminist, from the 1960s Avengers ideal.”
