Rafael Devers was in hot water to start the season with the Boston Red Sox. After the club concluded Alex Bregman on a $ 120 million contract over three years, Devers had to adapt to the new reality of the abandonment of the third goal and the creation of the role of DH.

And I only had two months to play this position for all of a sudden, I try to play another position.
“So, from my end, it does not seem to be a good decision. They came to me and told me about it. I know that I am a ball player, but at the same time, they cannot expect that I play each position there. During spring training, they talked to me and essentially told me to tidy up my glove and I was not going to play another position but DH.
The Red Sox finally put the branch on Rafael Dévers and exchanged the slugger from the stars to the Giants for the right -handers Jordan Hicks, the left -hander Kyle Harrison and two prospects – the voltiseur James Tibbs III (Giants No. 4 Perspect at the time of the agreement) and the Jose Bello on the right in June.
