The superstar of the 26 -year -old Afghan national cricket team, Rashid Khan made a colossal retirement statement, declaring that he wanted to play an international game in his homeland before saying goodbye to cricket.
Afghanistan has not hosted any international cricket match on its own territory due to security and political instability problems in the country.

In the latest Future Tours program (FTP), Afghanistan should welcome the Antilles and New Zealand in their country of origin in January and February, and if the men of Maroon and the Kiwis will go to the country, it will be a historic opportunity for Afghans.
Addressing the National at an event in Dubai, Rashid Khan said that playing an international match in Afghanistan would be a dream moment for him, but that he was pessimistic about this.
“It is in FTP for the moment. But when when the time comes, it is only then that you will know if it happens. There have been so many games planned in Afghanistan in the FTP over the years, but never happened. But I hope it happens. It is good for cricket and good for Afghanistan,” said Rashid Khan.
“Well, if it ends up happening, it will be a kind of dream of playing international cricket in Afghanistan. I hope it would get my retirement from sport. This is something I dream of-playing in front of my crowd. So, I hope it happens in the future,” he added.

Rashid Khan described the performance of the T20 2024 World Cup one of the main achievements of Afghanistan and said that it gave them a lot of confidence. He said:
“This is something that gave us so much confidence. I think it gave us so much positive energy. As a team, we continued to continue and we supported this confidence.
“We do not get enough cricket that you want as a nation, especially against the big sides. The more opportunities you get, the better you get. ”

Afghanistan will aim to provide good performance in the next 2025 Asian Cup, and the series against Pakistan will help them prepare for the tournament.
“The T20 in Pakistan are an excellent preparation to lead us to the Asian Cup, if that happens. As a team, we have played a lot of good cricket in the last two to three years and we have to continue this good shape, good cricket and, more importantly, these efforts,” said Rashid Khan.
Rashid Khan, who is undoubtedly the best T20 cricket player in the world, has had a slight fall in his career since he was facing injury problems last year. Overall, he put 45 test windows, 199 ODI counters and 161 T20I counters for Afghanistan in his career.
