Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ locks 2026 release date

Riding on the phenomenal success of ‘Dhurandhar’, which became one of the biggest Indian box office hits of 2025, the makers have locked the sequel for an Eid 2026 release.
“Dhurandhar 2” will release on March 19, 2026, and will be released simultaneously in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam in a pan-India and global rollout – a significant expansion from the original Hindi-only theatrical run.
The first installment follows a decade-long Indian intelligence operation in which an undercover agent infiltrates the criminal and political world of Karachi. The sequel is expected to continue after the cliffhanger ends.
Aditya Dhar is directing the films, with Jio and B62 Studios producing. Ranveer Singh leads the cast, with Akshaye Khanna playing the antagonist. The cast also includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, Rakesh Bedi, Manav Gohil, Danish Pandor, Saumya Tandon, Gaurav Gera and Naveen Kaushik.
The decision to mount a five-language release follows unprecedented demand from South Indian markets, despite the first film being available only in Hindi. The original ‘Dhurandhar’ generated exceptional traction in South India through word of mouth and social media virality, with southern distributors and exhibitors consistently reporting strong audience demand for dubbed versions. Fans have been actively demanding that the film be made available in regional languages, prompting the makers to ensure that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ reaches audiences across regions in their local languages from day one, according to Jio Studios.
The original film “Dhurandhar” collected INR 730.77 crore ($81 million) at the Indian box office, with the overseas gross reaching INR 186.9 crore ($20.8 million) till Monday, according to figures provided by Jio Studios.
Currently in post-production, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated Indian releases of 2026. The makers are also exploring mainstream releases beyond the diaspora audience in select overseas territories.
