EXCLUSIVE: Ransom Canyon Fans will see more Casey W. Johnson in season 2.. The actor was promoted in regular series after a season in the recurring role of Kit Russell, sources close to the production date.
The production of the second season of the West is expected to start this fall in Albuquerque, in New Mexico.
Created, written and executive produced by April Blair, and based on the series of books by Jodi Thomas, Ransom Canyon is a family drama fueled by romance and a contemporary western saga which follows three family dynasties of ranch locked in a contest of control of the earth, their life and their inheritance. They are threatened by the external forces determined to destroy their lifestyle.
At the center of all this is the stoic breeder State Kirkland (Josh Duhamel), who heals the heartbreaking loss and in search of revenge. The only glow of hope of State is resting in the eyes and the heart of Quinn O’Grady (Minka Kelly), longtime friend of the family and owner of the local dancehall. But while the battle to save the wages of the ransom, a mysterious cowboy derives in town, dragging secrets of the past. Aims to tighten, Staten fights to protect the ground he calls at home, and the only love that can bring him back from demons that haunt him.
The character kit of Johnson is the brother of Lucas Russell (Garrett Wareing), who both underwent an enormous loss and trauma of an abusive father who ultimately abandoned them. Kit played a more paternal role in the relationship after that, while Lucas focused on his school work. Apart from his family scenario, Kit played a pivotal role in the mystery behind the car accident that took him the son of Staten Randall.
The distribution of season 1 also included Eoin Macken, Philip Winchester, Lizzy Greene, Andrew Liner and James Brolin.
