Rangers Chasing Deal to sign 10 million pounds sterling star

Glasgow Rangers officially launched the 2025/26 campaign by playing their first pre-season friend in front of the supporters in Ibrox against Club Brugge on Sunday.
The Light Blues found itself 2-0 at halftime, after conceding twice in the first 12 minutes, but the second half’s goals of Mohamed Diomande and Findley Curtis assured that they avoid defeat.
Russell Martin was without some of his summer signatures to choose, however, like Thelo Aasgaard and Joe Rothwell, for example, looked since the touch.
The former Scottish international was able to see Emmanuel Fernandez and Max Aarons on the ground for the first time, while the Scottish Giants increase their preparations for their qualification confrontation in the Champions League with Panathinaikos.
Martin surely hopes to update Aasgaard as quickly as possible in the next two weeks, because the former attacking midfielder Luton has the potential to be an exciting addition to the team.
Why Thelo Aasgaard is an exciting signature for the Rangers
The Gers recently took the 23 -year -old striker on a four -year contract after accepting a reported fees of 3.5 million pounds sterling to sign it from the ONE English League.
Aasgaard left the hats only six months after signing for the Wigan Athletic club because they were relegated to the championship last season, which activated a relegation liberation clause in its contract at Kennilworth Road.
The Rangers took the opportunity to bring him to Ibrox this summer, and they now hope that he will play a key role in the field for Martin for many years to come.
While some supporters may not want to hear this, Aasgaard is similar in style to Todd Cantwell. Another offensive midfielder who can also play largely and prosper as a number ten traveling who can wear the ball and dribble the past players, rather than being exceptional as an exceptional or creator.

As you can see in the table above, the Liverpool’s original midfielder thrives with the ball at his feet in the middle of the park, picking it in space pockets which then allow him to get into the box, take players or win faults.
He produced only two goals and help during his 17 championship outings for Luton, and Martin may want him to improve his production in the last third in Ibrox.
It is his ball goalkeeper and his desire to take the players, however, who could make him an exciting signature for the club, who now looks at an attacker who would be even more exciting than Aasgaard.
Rangers looking at the Premier League winger
According to The Scottish Sun, the Rangers are one of the racing clubs to conclude an agreement for the young Crystal Palace Jesurun Rak-Sakyi this summer.
The report claims that the light blues “chase” a decision to sign the star of the left foot, which passed the 2024/25 campaign on loan to Sheffield United in the championship.
He reveals that Palace is ready to require costs of around 10 million pounds sterling to allow the good winger to leave the Selhurst park before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Rangers, however, would prefer to win the young talented attacker on a seasonal loan, rather than pouring the money to sign him permanently, but they would be ready to make a permanent agreement if the requested price is reduced.
It now remains to be seen if the Scottish giants can convince the Eagles to allow the dynamo to go on loan, which may depend on whether other teams are ready to comply with their evaluation of 10 million pounds sterling for a permanent agreement.
Why should Rangers sign Jesurun Rak-Sakyi
Vaclav Cerny returning to Wolfsburg at the end of last season, after his loan spell in Ibrox ended, left a hole in the team in the right position.
This means that Rak-Saskyi could slip directly into the departure XI as Martin’s right to replace Cachu’s international, and his form for Sheffield United suggests that he has the potential to have an immediate impact.
While Aagaard is an exciting player in its own right, because of his technical capacity, the youngster of Crystal Palace would be even more exciting for supporters because he also has the capacity to deliver objectives and assists to get fans out of their seats.
The 22 -year -old Whiz, which produced 15 goals and eight assists in Ligue 1 for Charlton during the 2022/23 campaign, finished last season with a return of seven goals and two decisive assists in 22 league departures for the Blades.
This shows that it is more likely to have an impact on the goal than Aasgaard in the Scottish Minister next season, because the Norwegian international has only achieved two goals and aid in the same division.

As you can see in the table above, Rak-Sakyi has been well classified among his positional peers in a multitude of key attacking statistics, apart from the assists, which shows that his teammates dropped him with their unnecessary finish.
The star of the left foot, once praised as “remarkable” by Roy Hodgson, is an attacker who can provide a threat both as a marker and creator of objectives regularly, while constantly taking opposition defenders, as his 2,44 successful dribbles show for 90.
This suggests that Rak-Sakyi could be an incredibly exciting player for Rangers supporters, because he can combine exciting dribbling skills with a quality final product in the last third.
While AaSgaard has the technical and dribbling capacity to bypass the ground, but must prove that he can deliver the objectives and help to accompany him, which is why the palace winger could be an even better signature for Martin in the here and now.
