Not only did that, they went through the undefeated league season, and it seemed that it was only the beginning of another era of domination.
For Gerrard, however, a lack of support on the transfer market before the 2021/22 campaign saw him doubt his future in Ibrox. When Aston Villa came to call, he jumped the ship to the riches of the Premier League.
Now it seems that English is ready for a return to the club where he started his management career. He knows the club upside down, it is a certainty, but will a return be the right thing for the Rangers?
Elsewhere, Ancelotti was linked to a surprise move to the Gers to become their new head coach. It was then revealed that the Italian was going to join his father, Carlo, as a Brazilian assistant as the 2026 World Cup approaches. This meant that he was out of the race.
Recent news suggests that Encelotti should make a name for itself as a manager this summer, which puts a stint at the Rangers.
He worked with his father in clubs such as Madrid, Bayern Munich and Napoli over the years, but is it ready for the implementation of a management role?

Rangers planning to move for Gennaro Gattuso
While all the speeches surrounded Gerrard and Ancelotti, names such as Russell Martin, Rob Edwards and Gary O’Neil were also examined by the Board of Directors, according to journalist Graeme Bailey.
A name stands out among noise, however, it’s Gennaro Gattuso. Bailey mentions the Italian as a manager that the club also plans, but unlike the rest of the links, Gattuso is currently in charge of a club.
Indeed, he could lead Hajduk to separate from their first domestic title since 2005, although it is long after their collapse in the previous few weeks.
The reports indicate that he could leave the Croatian side, even if he leads them in a way to the title, which means that it would be available this summer.

Gennaro Gattuso could be a perfect left field choice for rangers
The winner of the 2006 World Cup has managed nine clubs since he hung up his boots, winning the Coppa Italia with Napoli in 2020, which is his only management trophy so far.
In fact, it was not a major success in any of the clubs he has taken in the past. He spent almost two years in charge of AC Milan between November 2017 and May 2019, but he failed to bring them back to the Serie A summit.
Using a 4-2-3-1 system throughout his career in the canoe, it could work well with the players he would have at his disposal if he surprised the reins in Ibrox.
After his glory of the cup with Napoli five years ago, journalist Anthony Lopopolo caused the eulogy of the former midfielder, saying:

He spent only one season at the Rangers in 1997/98. Although they did not win their tenth consecutive league title, Gattuso’s first capacities were presented, and it was clear that he would have an excellent career in the game.
It would take a big bet in the appointment of Gattuso, but is it bigger than to take a step for Ancelotti?
The hot head coach may not be perfect, but the light blues need someone with this winning mentality. The former Italian international knows a lot about it. That’s sure.
