San Diego – – Kyle Higashioka had 3 for 3 with a home run and five products produced in the ninth place in the order in the 7-4 victory of the Texas Rangers on the Padres of San Diego on Saturday evening.
Patrick Corbin (5-7) granted two points on six strokes in six rounds to help Texas to the series.
Luis Arraez chose four times for San Diego, the last outgoing Robert Garcia and loading the bases with two withdrawals in the ninth. Shawn Armstrong entered and withdrew Xander Bogaerts on a force in the third for his third stop.
Josh Smith struck Stephen Kolek’s first throw (3-4), who granted six points on nine strokes in 5 1/3 sleeves, on the right field for his eighth circuit and an advance of 1-0.
Jose Iglesias attracted a march to a Corbin walk in the second and Jake Cronenworth, who chose the winning round during the 10th round of a 3-2 victory on Friday, struck his eighth circuit to put the 2-1 paadres.
Jake Burger was struck by a field leading the third, and Higashioka followed with his second circuit to put the rangers forward 3-2.
Wyatt Langford walked with two fourth withdrawals and scored on the double of Jonah Heim. Burger and Higashioka had two simple consecutive for an advantage of 5-2.
Langford managed to lead the sixth, finished third on the single of Burger and marked on the fly of the higashioka sacrifice to do it 6-2.
Luke Jackson replaced Corbin to start the seventh and loaded the bases without anyone. Jackson Merrill and Manny Machado followed with sacrifice flies to bring the paadres to 6-4.
The Texas responded to the eighth with the third safe blow from Higashioka – a two -stroke single for the last round.
Machado went 1 for 4, leaving him two strokes of 2,000.
The two -point Higashioka circuit in the third gave Texas the advance for good.
San Diego has won 13 of the 15 games against Texas since 2020.
The Padres did not announce that will start on Sunday in the final of the RHP Jack Leiter series (4-5, 4.29).
