Rain, wind struck mid -4 before the Memorial Day Recovery – NBC New York

This has been a soggy of May so far.

We could not last more than two or three days without rain, and this trend does not let go.

We started this week with a dry sky, but the showers are back on Wednesday. And they will deliver a few cold, soggy and miserable days just before the Memorial Day weekend.

Wednesday begins dry, but it will not stay long. Light showers will start to move into the central and south jersey during the morning journey, but the wipers will not get too much action.

The more stable and more widespread rain is starting to take control of the region in the middle of the morning and keeps us soggy the rest of the day. Expect a much more humid evening trip.

The heaviest push in the rain will spend one night on Wednesday morning on Thursday morning. During the morning walk, the heavy rains will mainly be released on Long Island, but we are still stuck in showers.

You will not want to forget the umbrella and the shock at home.

In addition to the swirling showers all day, the winds will resume from the northeast. The sustained winds on Thursday will be 10 to 20 miles per hour, with gusts up to 30 miles per hour, all from the northeast.

These winds will keep the day cool and humid.

An average high temperature for the middle at the end of May is around 72 degrees. Our temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday will be stuck in the middle of the 50s, a good 15 to 20 degrees fresher than the average.

These temperatures will be more typical of what we see in March, so do not hesitate to take out the hooded sweatshirts and the sweaters for a few days. You are not dramatic, it will be cold.

The weather conditions are starting to improve while we are heading on Friday. The sky will generally be drier, although some persistent showers are possible and temperatures are starting to recover. But it is not a quick recovery.

We will manage the summits in the 60s, but it is always well outside the place where most of us would like to be at this stage of the year.

And temperatures below average will remain with us throughout the Memorial Day weekend. Saturday and Sunday keep us in the 60s; We will finally manage temperatures in the 70s by Monday, which will also be the best day of the weekend.

With the temperatures that only get up in the 1970s on the day of the Memorial, it will be a good weather for an outdoor barbeqce, but not quite the beach time that you may be hoping for.

It will be quite pleasant on the sand, even with coastal temperatures in the 60s, but you may not want to venture into the water. Ocean temperatures are still in the 1950s higher at this stage of the year; This is not something in which you want to swim.

Overall, our unofficial beginning of summer will feel more like a continuation of spring. But if you can look beyond the lack of beach time, it will be a beautiful weekend to enjoy time outside.

We have had a rotten chance for Memorial Day Wet weekends over the past 10 years. And even if we cannot guarantee that there will be no shower thugs on Saturday or Sunday, many of us will be able to go out for a dry weekend, which is quite lucky given the way the rest of this month was.

We just need to go through terrible rain in the middle of the week first.
