The former manager of Liverpool and Newcastle United, Rafael Benitez, is in good position to provide internal information on the transfer of Alexander Isak this summer.
The Swedish international ended up going from St James’ Park to Anfield in a British record transfer agreement after a few world class displays for Newcastle in recent years.
Liverpool fans will be delighted to have signed such a big name to strengthen their attack, and Benitez gave an overview of how he went to Newcastle.
The Spaniard had spells in charge of the two clubs, and he commented that the people he had spoken in Newcastle are clearly unhappy that Isak ended up leaving.

Every club would miss a talent like Isak, of course, but it seems that there is a real disappointment at NUFC because the 25 -year -old had worked so well and only seemed to improve.

“So I think it will be an excellent signature for Liverpool and a large scale for Newcastle United.”
How Newcastle replaced Alexander Isak
Newcastle has at least two new attackers in their team after bringing Nick Woltemade and Yoane Wissa.
They should help Eddie Howe faces the departure of Isak, even if it will obviously be difficult to directly replace a world class front like that.
Isak made his debut in Liverpool against Atletico Madrid during this week’s Champions League conflict in Anfield, and it will be interesting to see if he can reproduce his Newcastle form for Arne Slot.
