Racial slurs directed at Vikings CB Isaiah Rodgers after Eagles game, team says

The Minnesota Vikings said they were “disgusted” by the racist slurs they say were directed at cornerback Isaiah Rodgers after Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

The team released a statement on social media Monday afternoon that read:

“We are disgusted by the racist slurs directed at Isaiah Rodgers after yesterday’s game. As we have said previously, there is simply no place for racist words or actions in sport or society. We support Isaiah and all the players who, unfortunately, face this type of ignorant and harmful behavior too often, and we ask our fans to continue to fight for eliminate racism.”

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert said Rodgers posted a screenshot on Instagram showing several messages that included the N-word.

Seifert said another post from a social media user said “you are worse than Hitler.” The author of the message later apologized.

Rodgers in an article on X said, “Racism is real” and “It’s not even the worst I’ve seen.”

Rodgers said in a response to his post that the slurs were “some of the most racist comments” he has seen since entering the league.

THE The Vikings lost to the Eagles Sunday in Minneapolis by a score of 28-22.
