Jaume Munar may never have entered the top 50 of the world, but he is only one of the two Spaniards to have beaten Carlos Alcaraz at the ATP Tour – the other being Rafael Nadal.
But this victory on the clay at Marbella was back in 2021 when Alcaraz was only 17 and three months old to win the first of his 20 titles, which now includes five Grand Colem.
Even then, Munar realized how good Alcaraz was: “I won the match but I knew he would come to the top,” he told Atpour.com.
“Honestly
[today at Queen’s] My chances are weak. It is reality.
“But if I have to face Carlos, doing it on a surface where he did not have much preparation is the best case for me.”
