Pumpkin bread recipe – Love and lemons

If you like pumpkin, you should try this easy pumpkin bread recipe! Wet, warmly spicy and filled with pumpkin flavor, it is the perfect fall treat.

Pumpkin bread

This pumpkin bread recipe is super humid, warmly spicy and filled with a delicious pumpkin flavor. This is one of my favorite fall recipes, and I make at least one bread each year. On a clear fall day, you cannot beat the cooking of homemade pumpkin bread in the oven!

I first published this pumpkin bread recipe in 2019, and I have since updated it to include even more pumpkin and hot spices. This version has a moldy texture and a richer fall flavor … and it is quite impossible for me to eat a single slice at a time. I think it’s the best pumpkin bread I tried. I hope you love it too!

Pumpkin bread recipe ingredients

Pumpkin bread ingredients

Here is what you will need to make this easy pumpkin bread recipe:

  • PumpkinOf course! I tested this recipe in two ways: using a complete pumpkin box (15 ounces) and using a little less, 1 1/2 cup. Although I hate leaving you the remaining pumpkin, I found that the use of 1 1/2 cup has given a better texture to the bread. It’s super humid, but not dense. You will have a few tablespoons of remaining pumpkin puree – perfectly to make a pumpkin spice slat! Make sure you use pure pumpkin puree, not the pumpkin pie garnish. I like that of Libby.
  • Versatile flour – Pour and level it to avoid wrapping too much in your measurement cup.
  • Vegetable oil – For humidity and wealth. Another neutral oil, like avocado or canola oil, would work here too!
  • Milk – Use the genre you keep at hand. Ordinary milk, almond milk and oats are all good choices.
  • Baking powder, baking soda and eggs – They help the bread to swell while it cooks.
  • Cane sugar – For sweetness.
  • Cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and pods – For a hot and comfortable fall flavor. A tablespoon of pumpkin pie spices also works.
  • Vanilla extract – It improves the hot flavor of spices.
  • And sea salt – To burst all the flavors!

This pumpkin bread recipe is so easy to make! Here’s how it goes:

First, make the dough. Whisk the wet ingredients together in a bowl and dry ingredients in another.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until it is just combined. Do not take place too much, or the pumpkin bread will be dense.

Then cook. Pour the dough into a greased saucepan and cook at 350 ° F until the top comes back to the touch and that a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, 60 to 70 minutes.

  • Advice: Check the bread after 45 minutes in the oven. If the top is golden, try it with aluminum foil for the remaining cooking time so that it does not become too dark before the bread cooked.

Let the bread quickly cool completely before deciding and serving.

Finally, take advantage of it! Unlock an ordinary slice, or shake it up with butter or honey butter. The remaining pumpkin bread is kept well in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days.

For longer storage, wrap slices in aluminum foil or plastic film and freeze up to 3 months. Let the slices defrost at room temperature, or unpack and defrost them in the microwave for about 30 seconds.

  • Add a little crunch. Incorporate 1/2 cup of your favorite chopped nuts and sprinkle it on top. Pacans or chopped nuts would be particularly good!
  • Make it fruity. Fold 1/2 cup of dried cranberries, dried pie cherries, raisins or chopped dates in the dough.
  • Follow the chocolate route. Fold 1/2 cup of dark chocolate chip in the dough. Discuss more on top to make a good measure!
  • Fros. Do you want a more decadent treat? Bragas this bread with my tin -on cheese with tangy cream!

Prevent your screen from becoming dark

  • Preheat the oven to 350 ° F and grease an 8×4 or 9×5 inch bread pan.

  • In an average bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, ginger, salt, pods and nutmeg.

  • In a large bowl, whisk together the pumpkin puree, eggs, sugar, vegetable oil, milk and vanilla to smooth consistency.

  • Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until it is just combined, being careful not to too much. The dough will be thick.

  • Transfer the dough to the prepared saucepan and smooth the top. Bake for 60 to 70 minutes, or until the top comes back to the touch and a toothpick inserts comes out clean. I like to check the bread after 45 minutes. If the top is golden, I cover it with aluminum foil for the remaining cooking time to avoid more browning.

  • Leave to cool completely in the pan before deciding and serving.

* 1 (15 ounces) The pumpkin puree contains approximately 1 3/4 cups, you will therefore have a little leftovers. Use it to make a pumpkin spices or stir it in oat night. I also tested this recipe using the whole box of the pumpkin. It still works, but bread cooked less uniformly and has a denser texture at the bottom.
