President Donald Trump said prices will not lead to higher prices. But the economy of the United States seems to disagree: inflation, which has remained quite docile, slowly crawls due to prices.
The latest Trump’s highest tax series on imports, which entered into force on Thursday, will immediately make goods imported from the more expensive impacted countries in the United States.
The new prices will probably increase prices on:
Electronic: Computers are among the main goods that the United States imported last year, mainly high nations, including China, Mexico, Taiwan, Vietnam and Malaysia.
Clothes: America buys a large part of its clothes from other countries. The main destinations include China, Vietnam, Bangladesh, India and Indonesia.
Watches: Bracelet watches are one of the best exports to the United States from Switzerland, which now has a rate of 39%.
Shoes: China, Vietnam and Indonesia are higher destinations where shoes are manufactured and prices should start at least 19% for the three countries next week.
Alcohol: Prices on European Union goods, a main supplier of alcoholic beverages, including wine, whiskey and vodka, reached 15% on Thursday.
Furniture: Vietnam is the main source of imported furniture, followed by China.
Toys: Mainly manufactured in China and Vietnam. The toy brands warned against higher prices.
