IMAX unleashes a new strange clip for frightening thriller from Zach Cregger

Zach Cregger, the visionary filmmaker behind the horror success in small groups Barbarousis back with his next nightmare project: WeaponsA mystery horror film already generating a massive buzz through Hollywood.

The project first made the headlines thanks to a fierce auction war on the highly sought after script, widely praised as one of the best scripts of horror specifications of the last 20 years.

The scenario sparked a fierce competition between the main players, including Netflix, Tristar Pictures, Universal / Monkeypaw Productions and New Line Cinema. In the end, a new line has arrived in the lead, guaranteeing distribution rights in an agreement of $ 38 million.

The reports say that Jordan Peele, responsible for Monkeypaw Productions, was so frustrated by losing the offer that he dismissed his longtime managers, Joel Zadak and Peter Principato.

Now, with the expectations of Heaven-Haut, Weapons Form is one of the most anticipated horror versions of the year. And thanks to IMAX, fans get their first taste of terror with a new atmospheric clip, offering a scary overview of what will happen when the film will be released in theaters in August.


Addressing Empire earlier this month, said Cregger: “[It’s] A fun film. It’s funny, it’s scary, it’s inviting. It is not a sinister and gloomy slog. And yet the story he tells is really [frick]Ed Up. … [It’s] Creative ambitious, [and] Much bigger and stranger than Barbarian … Barbarian was an exploration of social themes; [it] I looked at the world around me. It’s no longer an exploration of my personal shit, for lack of a better word. Weapons are I looking inside and that I work on myself.“”

Weapons synopsis (2025): From New Line Cinema and Zach Cregger, a completely original spirit behind Barbarian, comes a new horror / thriller: weapons.

When all children except one of the same class mysteriously disappears the same night at the same time, a community is left by wondering who or what is behind its disappearance.

The film features Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, with Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan.

Cregger directs his own scenario and also produced alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, JD Liffshitz and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin Executive Producing. The filmmaker’s creative team behind the camera includes the director of the photography Larkin Seiple, the production designer Tom Hammock, the editor Joe Murphy and the costume designer Trish Sommerville. The music is from Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay and Zach Cregger.

New Line Cinema presents a subconscious production / Vertigo Entertainment / Boulderlight Pictures, a film by Zach Cregger, weapons. It will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, and published in theaters and IMAX on a national scale on August 8, 2025, and from the international in August 2025.
