PSG releases update ahead of Strasbourg clash

Ousmane Dembélé will take no risks in Paris Saint-Germain’s home match against Strasbourg tomorrow night, with the Ballon d’Or winner having more time to overcome a troublesome hamstring problem.
Dembélé is no stranger to hamstring injuries and has been out for the past six weeks after suffering another setback while playing for France against Ukraine on September 5.
It had been suggested he could return to face high-flying Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes tomorrow, but a medical update from PSG this morning indicated the former Barcelona star was still “in the recovery phase” and would not play.
Désiré Doué was also injured against Ukraine – he came off at half-time to be replaced by Dembélé who was then struck himself – but is expected to return after not being named in the medical update.
The news, however, is less positive regarding Fabian Ruiz and Joao Neves, two-thirds of PSG’s vaunted midfielder alongside Vitinha.
Spain international Ruiz continues his rehabilitation following a groin injury while Neves remains sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Asked to assess the situation today, PSG boss Luis Enrique said: “I don’t know when the injured players will return. We have training and I can see the level of the players during the sessions. We are not taking any risks with the health of the players.”
