PSG loses in Monaco and leaves the door open for Marseille to take the lead in Ligue 1

PARIS (AP) — Ligue 1 leader Paris Saint-Germain lost at Monaco 1-0 on Saturday for its second defeat of the season, as many as all last season for the defending champion.
Japanese striker Takumi Minamino scored midway through the second half.

PSG’s defeat means Marseille can move a point clear at the top if they beat Toulouse at home later on Saturday. Marseille also have a better goal difference than Champions League winners PSG.
Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara was lucky to escape with an early yellow card for a dangerous attack on goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier, violently grabbing Chevalier’s right ankle after kicking the ball away.
Chevalier recovered and made a good one-handed save on Minamino’s volley later in the first half.
Portuguese midfielder Vitinha, who scored a brilliant Champions League hat-trick in midweek, was kept quiet by the hard-working Monaco midfielder.

PSG were exposed to counterattacks and Minamino made no mistake in the 69th, skillfully controlling Aleksandr Golovin’s pass from the left and cutting the ball past Chevalier.
Monaco defender Thilo Kehrer was sent off in the 80th minute following video viewing after pushing a PSG player in the back. Former midfield star Paul Pogba came off the bench for Monaco in the closing stages.
In Saturday’s other match, Paris FC faced struggling Auxerre.
