Prophecy showrunner on the hidden Easter egg which alluded to the true heritage of Desmond Hart

“Dune: prophecy” incoming spoiler! Desmond Hart (Travis Fimmel), the warrior, is the secret son of Tula Harkonnen (Olivia Williams), and is half Harkonnen and half atreids.

But there were hidden clues revealing his identity from the start.

Showrunner Alison Schapker spoke at the show’s FYC and revealed how there had been an Easter egg from the start, and it would be the very thing that connects it to his mother, and the public finally learns who he is. She revealed: “He heads for the palace, and he has a small piece of black fabric, and you need all season to really understand where it comes from, but it’s a link with his mother.”

It was only the revelations of the key during the moderate panel by Variety Editor -in -chief of the Jazz Tangcay craftsmen. Schapker was joined by Emily Watson (Valya Harkonnen), Williams, Fimmel, producer Jordan Goldberg, costume designer Bojana Nikitović, the production designer Tom Meyer and the VFX supervisor Michael Enriquez.

Williams extended the idea that Desmond would carry this piece of black fabric throughout the show. She said: “Whoever with young children knows that the first thing in which you envelop a child, you can never lose or change it, because the child will notice. So, it was a beautiful theme that crossed.”

The character of Desmond Hart was not presented in any of the books dune, which makes his character even more mysterious to the public. Speaking of taking the character, Fimmel said that he did not have as much pressure as his colleagues actors. “There is such a vast background in the show.” Fimmel joked: “I was lucky. I just had mummy problems, you know, and just a primary need to get love in there. And then it was one of the easiest jobs. ”

The series takes place 10,000 years before the birth of Paul Atreids and follows two Sisters Harkonnen who fight against the forces that threaten the future of humanity, and finally they establish what is happening to become the benefit.

Aside from Easter eggs, there has been a construction of the world, including a vast landscape of the desert which has become synonymous with the world of dunes and dark structures of the fraternity complex.

A sequence that was discussed was in the flashbacks with Vala de Jessica in the Ice Lake sequence with a snowstorm. The environment reflected the character’s emotions and where she was. As the scene continues, the ice begins to crack and black snow begins to fall, symbol of its internal conflicts. By creating this, Enriquez admitted that the scene was difficult and was one of the most involved sequences in the series. “We had a lot of wind, part of the surface of the ice was built, and there must have been a storm that implied not only white but black snow.” Enriquez explained: “We have replaced the whole environment. What we had there was incredible to obtain the appropriate lighting on Emily and Jessica, then, finally, we simply raised everything else and built all this snow storm around them. ”

Meyer spoke of the conception of the sets, which, according to him, reflected his approach, and which “Dune: Prophecy” was a great story and presented great worlds. However, by conceiving his ideas, Meyer says he wanted the worlds to feel anchored and real and do not feel science fiction. “It had a sense of history. The stone in the palace would have the friction of the oil of people touching the stone over the centuries. And then in fraternity, there was a real construction. ” He added that columns and cornices and details in his work had a feeling of earth, but these are new forms and ideas that seemed new to viewers.

The conversation ended with an overview of season two and what the public could expect. Schapker replied that the creative team is still in its infancy. “I think you can expect to see what some schools are talking about, and we will simply meet some of the other players from Imperium and Power players.”

She then alluded to what fans could see others. “I would just say, if you are a fan of” dune “and you wonder where are the mentats? What’s going on with the spacing guild? I think season 2 will take you to part of this world of rich dunes. ”
