Sarfaraz Khan returns
On a related note, Mumbai received some encouraging news as Musheer’s elder brother Sarfaraz Khan was declared fit for the upcoming Ranji Trophy. After completing his rehabilitation at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru following a quadriceps injury, Sarfaraz will join the Mumbai team for their opening match against Jammu and Kashmir starting October 15. The team, headed by Sanjay Patil’s selection panel, will be named on Friday.
Sarfaraz last featured in a competitive match in May when India A were on tour with the England Lions. He made an encouraging 92. Following this, he missed the England tour as he was overlooked in place of Karun Nair and Sai Sudharsan. After that, Sarfaraz shone brilliantly in the Buchi Babu tournament, hitting two centuries before getting injured.
