Principal of Ira Cross Elementary School in Killeen resigns

Killeen ISD announced that Ira Cross Elementary School Principal Stephanie Ford is resigning for personal reasons.
KILLEEN, Texas — Stephanie Ford, principal of Ira Cross Elementary School in Killeen ISD, is resigning from her position, the district announced.
Killeen ISD said Ford chose to step down for personal reasons.
KISD Superintendent Dr. King Davis said he is working to identify the campus’s next leader “as quickly as possible.” In the meantime, Davis said district leaders will be on campus to support daily operations and “ensure a smooth and steady transition.”
Davis said he, Manor Middle School Principal Tomas Sias, Assistant Principal Jessica Askew and Executive Director of Schools Dr. Keonna White will partner to provide leadership and “day-to-day support” at the school. Davis said the group’s “extensive experience with Ira Cross and commitment to students and staff make this a positive and stabilizing step for the campus.”
“Our commitment to the success of every student and staff member remains unwavering,” Davis said in a statement to parents. “Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Ira Cross Elementary.”
Those with questions are encouraged to contact Dr. White at Keonna.White@killeenisd.org.
