Prime Video Cuts Series despite the order of two seasons

The first arc of “star” is also the last. Prime Video canceled the Ballet series of the creators of “Marvelous Mme Maisel” Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino, despite the initially lit production with a commitment of two seasons.
The final pirouette occurs about six weeks after the first time the series made its debut at the end of April and won generally positive reviews of criticism. The eight episodes were abandoned simultaneously on a premium video. This model of derivation of the frenzy of the first of all the episodes has become a little rare for the original programming of Amazon.
“Star”, which featured Luke Kirby and Charlotte Gainsbourg as directors of ballet companies who associate each other to save the institutions of each, was commissioned from the series in 2023, about a month before the final of the series of Sherman-Palladino and Palladino “Mme Mme” by Sherman-Palladino and Palladino. “Maisel” was also initially taken up for two seasons in 2017, although this commitment came after the production of a pilot.
The Ballet series was Greenlit by the anterior administration of Amazon MGM Studios, led by Jennifer Salke. Salke left his role after seven years in March, a month before the first “star”.
In an interview in April with Variety Previews the series, Sherman-Palladino and Palladino were provisional on the prospect of season 2, despite the initial commitment of streamer, saying that other episodes were “pending”.
Sherman-Palladino and Palladino were writers, directors and executive producers on “Star”, with Dhana Rivera Gilbert also in productation of Scott Ellis. It was a product of the global agreement of Sherman-Palladino and Palladino at the Amazon studios, which the pair signed in 2019.
