Liverpool would have prepared to keep talks about a potential transfer decision for the Frankfurt attacker Eintracht Hugo Ekitike.
The French striker was one of the most impressive young attackers in Europe last season, ending the campaign with a total of 22 goals and 11 assists in 47 games in all competitions.
