Callum Hudson-Odoi scored twice as Nottingham Forest beat Tottenham at the City Ground to move five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone.

Sean Dyche’s side secured a sixth victory in their last eight matches in all competitions with help from generous Tottenham defender Ibrahim Sangaré – who had headed against the woodwork earlier – pounced when Archie Gray lingered on the ball to tee up Hudson-Odoi to score the opener in the 28th minute.

Former England midfielder Hudson-Odoi scored a superb second five minutes after the break, twisting near the touchline on the left before finding the far corner of the net.

Sangaré added a sublime third 11 minutes from time, scoring for the first time from distance to secure Spurs a fourth defeat in their last seven league matches.
Nottingham Forest against Tottenham: Frank “burns”
Spurs manager Thomas Frank called the display “extremely boring” and said he was “burning inside” afterwards.
“I had a very good feeling before this match,” Frank told the Tottenham website. “Then we deliver this performance, which is not enough.
“I thought – especially after the first goal – we looked even more disjointed… The worst part was we threw the ball about 20 times. [with] simple passes.
Tottenham are next to face currently sixth-placed Liverpool on Saturday (5:30 p.m. GMT / 12:30 p.m. ET / 9:30 a.m. PT).
Forest next play Fulham on December 22 (8:00 p.m. GMT / 3:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. PT).

Nottingham Forest team vs Spurs
Forest rotated again after making nine changes for the 2-1 victory at Utrecht in the Europa League on Thursday, when Igor Jesus scored the winner in the 88th minute.
Defenders Oleksandr Zinchenko and Murillo returned from injury for this match, as did midfielder Douglas Luiz, who played the first half.
This time they made eight changes, introducing Nicolo Savona, Nikola Milenkovic, Neco Williams, Igor Jesus, Ibrahim Sangare, Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson and Omari Hutchinson.
Goalkeeper Matz Sels was still a fixture in the Premier League this season, but did not travel to Utrecht as a precaution due to a groin problem and was absent again, so John Victor kept his place.
Captain Ryan Yates had a potentially long-term hamstring injury. Forward Chris Wood (knee), fullback Ola Aina (hamstring) and striker Taiwo Awoniyi were still injured, but goalkeeper Angus Gunn returned to the bench after a knee problem.

Tottenham starting XI against Forest
Rodrigo Bentancur and Randal Kolo Muani started for Spurs, replacing Joao Palhinha and Wilson Odobert.
Brennan Johnson returned to the bench from injury but his compatriot Dominic Solanke was not yet ready despite an Instagram post from the 28-year-old suggesting he was closing in on a return.
Defenders Destiny Udogie and Kota Takai (both hamstrings) and central defender Radu Dragusin (knee) remained out, as did midfielders James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski with knee injuries.
Yves Bissouma was absent due to an internal disciplinary problem.
Victory for Spurs would move the visitors up to seventh, having won successive matches at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium by beating Brentford 2-0 on December 6 and Slavia Prague 3-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
