The first six

As you can see, everyone went with Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City to occupy places in the first six. This should not surprise, the identity of the teams should not fight for the fifth and the sixth.

Newcastle and Aston Villa open the way as, a little more surprising, Manchester United. Our team clearly believes that we will finally start to see the revolution inspired by Ruben Amorim take shape.

And with Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha on board, it is impossible to think that United will not pressure for a European place.

As for the title winners, it was a mixed bag with only two predicting Liverpool – the overwhelming favorites with the bookmakers – will retain their title.

It was difficult for the dead for Arne Slot and her players and it could well offer the possibility to Arsenal – with Viktor Gyokerres in theory by solving their number new problem – and Manchester City to take advantage of it.

Arsenal and City both obtained three votes, despite the miserable season of the latter in 2024/25.

Relegation candidates

It will obviously be difficult for the newly promoted teams, given the fact that the last six attempts to get to the Premier League all ended with failure.

It is therefore not surprising that Sunderland, Burnley and Leeds present strongly.

That said, there is also a certain optimism that new boys could survive.

Sunderland, in particular, appears very infallible after a hectic recruitment campaign that saw Grant Xhaka, Simon Adingra and Reinildo appear on Wearside.

Player of the year

With so many interesting candidates, it was perhaps a shock to see a name name three times, that of Cole Palmer.

Chelsea’s playmaker was exceptional during the club World Cup, marking twice during the final victory against Paris Saint-Germain, and it’s a great year for the former Manchester City man while he tries to nail a regular place in the XI of the departure of Thomas Tuchel before the World Cup.

The other selections largely depended on what the writer believed to win the League. Arsenal / Declan Rice, Man City / Tijjani Reijnders, Man City / Erling Haaland and Liverpool / Mohamed Salah were all associated.

There was also a vote for Moises Caicedo which could be a good sly choice. The equator flies under the radar but is one of the main field circles of the Premier League. He has a great job this season with him and Enzo Fernandez responsible for helping a young team gel under Enzo Maresca.
