Pre-match oriole notes on Eflin, Kjerstad, Selby, Bautista, Mayo and more

Philadelphia – While the Orioles work to obtain their healthier rotation with rehabilitation assignments for Kyle Bradish and Tyler Wells, they have an indefinite expectation on the veteran of the right -hander Zach Eflin.
Eflin returned on the list of 15 days injured Thursday with discomfort from the lower back. He has received an epidural shot and the Orioles do not know how long he will miss.
“There is no plan in place at the moment,” said acting manager Tony Masolino. “Always letting the photo do his job, see how he gets out. And then, as he feels better or when he will do it, then we can map what the month or the next two months will look like him.”
Eflin was to be a commercial chip on the deadline, but the injury probably calmed the market for him.
This is the third trip from Eflin to Il and his second with back pain. He was sidelined in April with a light lat strain.
Eflin made 14 departures and displayed an MPM of 5.93 and 1.416 Whip in 71 1/3 sleeves.
Wells starts tonight with Triple-A Norfolk and Bradish takes its next round on Friday.
The Heston Kjerstad voltiseur has not played with Norfolk since July 25. He list the injured four days later due to fatigue.
The Orioles wanted to give him a chance to rest, with the intention of reviewing the plan in about a week. He does not seem close to a return.
Asked earlier in the day for an update, Mansolino said: “I’m not yet ready to share, but I will talk about it and we will understand what we want to share with you guys. But nothing yet. “
Kjerstad struck. 192 with a .566 OPS in 54 games with the Orioles and. 149 with a .473 OPS in 27 games with the tides. His health history include fighting with myocarditis after the Orioles made him the second choice of the 2020 draft, and the concussion underwent on July 12, 2024 after being struck on the helmet by a field of Clay Holmes.
The 2025 season was supposed to give Kjerstad the opportunity to receive every day and to settle in the majors, but he fought on the plate and in the right field. The Orioles opted it for June 10.
The Colin Selby lift is on the list of retroactive 15-day injured until July 29 with a 2nd year strain of its left ischioshiwovers. He probably had another month before he was ready to throw.
“Inticing of the fairly large hamstrings,” said Mansolino, “so it’s going to take time.”
Closer to Félix Baustista will have a follow-up meeting on his right shoulder, but it is the extent of its update.
“It happens in next week,” said Mansolino.
Bautista should get another MRI after the swelling end.
The first goal player Ryan Mountcastle will be restored to the injured list after the team returns home for a series of weekends against athletics. He has not played for the Orioles since May 30 due to a strain of the hamstrings of Grade 2.
Mansolino seems confident that he can continue to provide batts for Coby Mayo after Mountcastle returns to programming.
“We will try to disseminate wealth is probably the best way to say it,” he said. “Coby needs to play a lot, as we can see. So, we need Coby to play, we need Coby to be the COBY we all dreamed of, right? It will take him time. I have to get him out.
The Rico Garcia lift may not join the Orioles before Friday. They have a day match on Wednesday.
The interior / voltigger terrin VAVRA player released the exemptions and accepted his mission to Norfolk.
