Mega Stones Explained: How Do Mega Stones Work in Legends: ZA?
Mega Stones are required for Mega Evolving Pokémon in Legends: ZA. Without it, your Pokémon will stay in their usual form no matter what you do.
It is important to note that you can only have one copy of each Mega Stone per save file. This means that while you can have multiple Pokémon capable of Mega Evolving, they all have to be different Pokémon themselves; you cannot, for example, have multiple Gengars with the ability to mega-evolve.
To use a Mega Stone, you must first make sure it is held by a Pokémon, which can be done in two ways. The first is to select a Pokémon in your party and select “Give an item to keep” or “Change held item” followed by “Open satchel” depending on whether a Pokémon is holding an item or not. After that, navigate to the “Mega Stones” inventory slot before selecting the correct Mega Stone. This option can also be used for Pokémon in your Boxes.
There is also the “Exchange Held Items” option when selecting a Pokémon, which can be used to exchange Mega Stones between Pokémon currently in your party.
Once a Pokémon holds its Mega Evolution Stone, you can activate Mega Evolution if you have enough Mega Power. During a Rogue Mega Pokémon battle, Mega Power will drop when you attack the Pokémon in question. Outside of these battles, Mega Power is obtained by using a Pokémon’s normal attacks.
After activating Mega Evolution, a Pokémon will remain in this state until you run out of Mega Power. When this happens, they return to their normal shape. You can, however, exchange the Pokémon for another and make it maintain its Mega Evolution form. Either way, once your current Mega Evolution is complete, you will need to rebuild your Mega Power.
It is also worth keeping in mind that apart from Mega Evolutions, Plus Moves can also use Mega Power. Use them wisely if a Mega Evolution is part of your combat tactics!
Good luck in Pokémon Legends: ZA!
