As a leader in video podcasting, Studio71 will drive audience growth for the show, which already enjoys a strong presence on YouTube, and sell advertising in both audio and video.

With over 6 million subscribers across all platforms, she has built on her success story in traditional television, as co-creator of 2 broke girls for CBS and Whitney (in which she also starred) for NBC, as well as six stand-up specials, several roast specials, and a best-selling memoir.

“It seems like everyone has a podcast now, but ironically I think the only way to stay relevant is to not worry about relevance,” Cummings told us. “Trying to drive away the audience by being inauthentic can work for a while, but I think the key to success in podcasting is being yourself as niche as it can be and attracting people who understand what you’re doing. I treat it more like real television or like writing an hour of stand-up special; digging deep into each topic instead of superficially touching on everything that’s in the zeitgeist. The deal was negotiated by Jenny Barish, Studio71’s senior director of podcast relations. Cummings is replaced by UTA and Brillstein.
