PM Modi Commissions Vizhinjam International Seaport Port

Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially ordered the port of Seaphinjam International Seaport, which was completed at an estimated cost of 8,867 crore.
Modi has arrived in the port area by Thiruvananthapuram City helicopter at 10:15 am and went around the transhipment center bearing a helmet, taking stock of the installations here.
Subsequently, at 11:33 am, he officially ordered the first phase of the establishment in the presence of the governor of Kerala Rajendra Arlekar, chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, the president of the Adani group, Gautam Adani and the Thiruvanthapuram congress, Shashi Thararoor.
Located in the District of Thiruvanthapuram, the port should transform the role of India into international trade and shipping.
The deep water port was developed by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone LTD (APSEZ), the largest Indian port developer and part of the Adani group, as part of a public-private partnership.
After a successful test, the port obtained its commercial commissioning certificate on December 4 of last year.
