Pierre Gasly shares his state of mind after a brilliant qualification for Alpine

Pierre Gasly admits that the replication of his qualification result among the first 10 in the British race GP could be a challenge. Addressing the media including Sportskeeda, before Sunday race in Silverstone, the Frenchman expressed his concerns about the performance of Alpine in the race garnish.
Gasly delivered a strong final round in the third quarter to secure the tenth on the grid, a result after a close call from the first quarter where he narrowly avoided elimination. He then surpassed several faster cars in T2 to reach the top 10.
However, the alpine driver remains cautious about the prospects of the team’s race day. He recognized that Silverstone was not traditionally suitable in the alpine package and expects the race to be much more difficult than qualifications. Gasly thinks that it will take intelligent races and a defensive strategy to maintain her competitors, in particular with doubts that linger at their pace in the long term. Despite this, he praised the team to perform well in pressure qualifications and said that delivery when it mattered the most was encouraging.
When asked if he was confident enough that he could maximize his position for a top 10 result in the race, Pierre Gasly said:
“I mean we know in Silverstone, we know for our cars, no need to explain why. It will not be, you know, our favorite song of the year. So I know that tomorrow will be difficult tomorrow, we have a little more trouble. Ready for that and I mean for the moment, I’m just very happy for the team, because it seemed very very difficult for us and we managed to do it when it counted. »»
Pierre Gasly believes that the qualification performance tour in the British GP was one-off
Pierre Gasly was surprised to guarantee a top 10 which results in qualifications before the British GP. The Frenchman admitted that it was the kind of performance that only occurs occasionally. He estimated that the team made the qualifications very well and credited the configuration changes made after FP3 for having made a positive difference. Gasly admitted that the overall pace of the car did not suggest that an appearance in the first quarter was possible, but he was satisfied with the result. He distinguished his last round in the second quarter as the best in the session and a key factor to reach the top ten.
Asked where he found this time of turn to go to the top 10, Pierre Gasly replied:
“Yeah, honestly, it was one of those laps that is in a year, looking at all free practices, we thought we would be knocked out after the first quarter because it was extremely difficult for any reason. We had so much trouble throughout the weekend and we didn’t really comfortable each other. This last Tour of Q1 managed to reach the second quarter at the P15 and this Tour in Q2 was very, very, I was very satisfied. “”
“Like all the corners absolutely on the edge and came perfectly and just cross it in P10. So I think it was just each time like a few hundredths. But looking at the rhythm that I would never have and we would never have imagined getting there. So very strong from the whole P3 and yes, I am very proven.”
Pierre Gasly has currently scored 11 points for Alpine and remains their only points driver. His teammate, Franco Colapinto, crashed in the first quarter and has not yet recorded a point for the French outfit. Despite Gasly’s efforts, Alpine is at the bottom of the manufacturers’ classification in tenth place, the battle of the midfielder becoming more and more competitive as the season progresses.
