Photos from the set of SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY reveal Bruce’s bloodied banner; A villain spotted?

Spider-Man: A Whole New Day is back to filming in public spaces, which means another wave of on-set photos. We got our first glimpse of Sadie Sink’s character…who is almost certainly The Punisher’s sidekick– and some very blurry images of Mark Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner.

Now, photographer @UnBoxPHD has confirmed that the Avenger was indeed taken away in an ambulance. Why would someone who can transform into the Hulk need medical attention? That remains to be seen.

However, as you’ll see below, Bruce looks more than a little in bad shape, as he appears to have suffered several injuries to his head and face.

We talked a lot about Spider-Man: A Whole New Day introducing a “Savage” Hulk, so maybe he’s incapable of transforming at this point.

Another photo that got a lot of attention on social media featured a mysterious character who many fans believe could be the unknown villainess of the film. However, since she’s not a recognizable actress, we tend to believe she’s an extra.

Finally, we get our first look at Liza Colón-Zayas’ character, widely believed to be Jean DeWolff, alongside the wall-crawling robot. This appears to be from a shoot that took place a few weeks ago, not last weekend.

“I don’t know, I’m still waiting to know” Ruffalo said last month when asked if he might appear in Spider-Man: A Whole New Day. “I haven’t read a script yet. Well, if that happens, it would be [Laughs] amazing. I grew up with it and it changed my life in the best way.”

“Every time, it’s a new director, a new world, and it’s so exciting,” »continued the actor. “There’s nothing like it. A TV series doesn’t change its world from one director to the next, and that’s what’s exciting.”

Spider-Man: A Whole New Day shares a title with a controversial era of storytelling that, thanks to a deal with Mephisto, saw the wall-crawler get a fresh start when his marriage to Mary Jane Watson ended and his identity became a secret again. He faced many sinister new foes during this time and was surrounded by a revamped supporting cast, including Mister Negative, Jackpot, Menace and Carlie Cooper.

Instead, all signs point to Spidey teaming up with (and at one point fighting) The Punisher to take on a Savage Hulk, with The Scorpion thrown in for good measure.

Several other villains are expected to appear in the film, including Tombstone, Tarantula, Boomerang and Ramrod. There has been some discussion online about the Venom Symbiote being factored into the story, potentially paving the way for Mac Gargan to eventually don the alien costume.

Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings director Destin Daniel Cretton directs Spider-Man: A Whole New Day from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland leads a cast that also includes Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Zendaya, Sadie Sink, Michael Mando, Tramell Tillman, Marvin Jones III and Liza Colón-Zayas. Love at first sight* star Florence Pugh also joined the cast.

Spider-Man: A Whole New Day will be released in theaters on July 31, 2026.
