Philipp Käßbohrer receives the Prix du Dateline’s German TV Disruptor

The producer, writer, writer and independent boss Philipp Käßbohrer will be honored as Diedline’s 2025 German TV Disruptor in Seriescamp in Cologne, the city where Bildundtonfabrik Prodco is based.

Käßbohrer and his colleague BTF Boss Matthias Murmann label created the dark comedy of Netflix How to sell online (fast) medication. The fast half hour series has unique visuals with graphic overlays and VFX touches forged in the history of a high school student’s attempt to sell ecstasy on the dark net. The last episodes of the show abandoned earlier this year.

For BTF, landing a theater show with the streamer was a big problem. When the series was Greenlit, the Prodco was best known in the German biz for having made a talk show at the end of the popular evening, but at that time had never done a scripted series.

Käßbohrer says on the deadline that he did not want to stay in a way and that is why he started knocking on the doors with How to sell online (fast) medication. Netflix was new for the German originals at the time and had its own plan to disrupt the market, which made it a good match for BTF. Four seasons later, the rest is the story of television.

The BTF Prodco, on the other hand, remains one of the real German Indies, that is to say that it is not a label within one of the major producer-distributor groups. This independent spirit is large in the work of BTF, which extends over talkshows, documents, films, theater and musical clips. He made shows for inherited broadcasters as well as Prime Video and Netflix.

Recent projects include dramatic series Späti For Zdfneo, Perfectly missed (The perfect miss) for the first -rate video and the Bayern Munich documentary FC Hollywood.

Käßbohrer will participate in a Q + A with a deadline in Serieencamp before receiving its German Disruptor distinction.

SERIEENCAMP takes place from June 3 to 5.
