Pete Alonso got closer to the New York Party Party record on Monday.
The push of the Cleveland Guardians qualifiers also took another small step forward.
The Guardians will try to win a serial victory on Tuesday when they visit the Mets competition in the middle of a three -game interligue set.
The left-handed Logan Allen (7-9, 4.06 ERA) should start against the right-hander of the Clay Holmes dishes (9-6, 3.45).

The dishes could be returning to the playoffs more difficult than it appeared almost two months ago. New York had the best baseball record between 45 and 24 to 12 June, but has only 18-26 since.
The dishes occupy the second position of the national league and are 1 1/2 games behind the phillies of Philadelphia in the NL East – corresponding to their greatest deficit since July 2.
