The following contains spoilers For the second episode of season 2 of “Peacemaker”.
The writer, director and producer James Gunn has never shown hesitation towards ultraviolence on the screen, from its beginnings, pushing the note of “Slither” at his absolute limit, to his recent Marvel and DC projects. Meta-humans, humans and all kinds of animals are also a fair game (although it has apparently discovered that dogs with dogs is too far for most audiences). In the 2021 “The Suicide Squad” film, written and directed by Gunn, there seemed to be a lot of violence directed towards the birds – in fact, that he ended up tweeter at some point to try to reassure the fans that no, he “does not hate birds”.
Enter Eagly, the digital and digital head pygargue that serves as best friends and the acolyte of the peaceful / Christopher Smith (John Cena) on the series derived from Gunn “The Suicide Squad”, “Peacemaker”. Eagly seems to be the way of Gunn to apologize to all the birds and serious ornithologists, because the feathered comrade is certainly adorable. During the first season, he was able to make a little fight and even tried to bring Chris a beautiful snack in squirrelly. In season 2, he is fortunate to really go to town on certain humans, and it feels like Gunn says sorry to the birds (and the birds of birds) and to offer them a little chaotic catharsis.
Eagly obtains a certain revenge of birds in season 2 Peacemaker
For those of you who have not seen “The Suicide Squad”, just know that the character of Michael Roboker uses his skills to kill a cute bird with a ball early in the film (although he finds himself later with another bird of the same species eating his brain). Then, after Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) was presented to a whole herd of beautiful tropical birds by the dictator of Corto Maltese, the general president Silvio Luna (Juan Diego Botto), the birds are all trapped in their voting and burned alive by the rebels. It’s a lot of avian horror. But in the episode of season 2 of season 2 of “Peacemaker”, a man is as good as his bird “, Eagly takes the opportunity to cause a serious carnage against humans invading his domestic lawn.
When the agents of Argus led by Langston Fleury (Tim Meadows) made the house of Peacemaker raid, they met the beak and the greenhouses of a seriously upset bird, and it is honestly a little delight. Eagly absolutely decimates the agents of Argus although it is a lonely eagle against a whole team of armed agents. He picks his eyes, strikes the gorges and made the kind of destruction of which his dear old father would have been proud of his days “suicide squad”, before his attempts to be a better man. Given that Eagly is one of the most adorable characters in the whole DC Gunn universe, and he has just received his own killer action sequence, maybe the director really does not hate birds after all?
