Paul Simon’s daughter, Lulu, has strong words for Richard Gere.
The singer, 30, took her Instagram stories on Tuesday July 8 to express her anger against Pretty woman Star’s decision to sell her childhood home to property developers. The property is now demolished to make room for nine new houses.
Lulu claims that Gere has promised his family that he “takes care of the earth” when he bought him from the musician of Simon & Garfunkel and his wife Edie Brickell for $ 10.8 million in 2022. Although she claims that it was a “condition of her purchase” to protect the house, she does not go further in the presumed agreement.
“Just in case someone wondered if I still hate Richard Gere – I do it!” Lulu wrote in white text on a selfie and a screenshot of a press article on the imminent destruction of the house.
She continued: “He bought my childhood home. A promised that he would take care of the land as a condition of his purchase. He has never really moved and sold it to a developer like 9 distinct plots 🙂 “.
“Haste! Him!” She added in the photo.
A Gere representative did not immediately respond to the request for people’s comments.

In a second slide, she wrote: “I hope my dead animals are buried in this backyard you haunt you until you go down in a slow and relentless madness.”
The legend was written on an old photo of gere apparently surrounded by cats and dogs that Lulu had as a child.
His post was then followed by a meme of a frog sitting in front of a colorful sky with legend: “Time will put your enemies in the ground.”
People contacted representatives for Lulu and Gere but did not receive an immediate response.

Two years after buying New Canaan’s property in Connecticut, Paul and Brickell, Richard and his wife Alejandra Gere officially sold the house for $ 10.75 million in October 2024.
In May, it was revealed that the historic house of the 1930s was to demolish in order to make room for a development of nine-priceds on the site. The news occurred after the couple had already moved to Madrid, so Richard and Alejandra, from Spain, and their children could be closer to his family.

The couple shares the sons Alexander, 6, and James, 5 years old. Alejandra is also a mother of son, Albert, 11, with ex-husband Govind Friedland, while Richard shares his son Homer, 25, with ex-wife Carey Lowell.
“For Alejandra, it will be wonderful to be closer to her family, her friends with a lifetime and her culture,” said Richard Vanity Spain in April 2024. “It was very generous to give me six years to live in my world, so it is just that I give it at least six others living here.”
Alejandra has since shared that they plan to return to the United States in a “a few years”.
Although the property is ready to demolish, experts in the recovery of Hudson Valley House Piles, based in New York, worked to extract some of the architectural jewels of the house to be reused.
As detailed in an Instagram coil shared in May, the company offered an overview of the massive property and some of the historic pieces they were able to save.
“During the last month, we were fascinated by this area while our team works on the location of many architectural elements,” they wrote in legend.
“Formerly owned by Richard Gere who bought the property from Paul Simon and Edie Brickell, this 1930s house is planned for demolition with the intention of dividing the 32 acres into nine large lots,” continued the legend.
