Paul Simon cancels 2 shows due to back pain

Paul Simon canceled two shows in Philadelphia due to back pain that has become “unmanageable”. Simon shared the news via Instagram on Saturday.
“Reret, Paul Simon has to cancel two programs this evening on June 28 and tomorrow evening on June 29 – at the Philadelphia Music Academy,” said the press release. “Paul fought with chronic and intense back pain. Today, he has become unmanageable and requires immediate attention. Unfortunately, we must cancel these emissions at the moment, because we do not have the capacity to reprogram them.”
“However, we hope after this minor surgical procedure which has been planned in the coming days, Paul will be able to finish the visit and seek to return to compensate for these dates,” the statement continued.
Simon previously played the place on June 26 as part of his tour “A Quiet Celebration”. He was supposed to occur in Long Beach on July 7 and Los Angeles from July 9 to 16.
The singer announced the plans of the tour in February. Simon, who also dealt with a severe hearing loss, intentionally chose sites “with optimal acoustics for this tour”.
Simon went on stage alongside Sabrina Carpenter during “SNL50” in February. The pair occurred together instead of the traditional cold open open show, during which Simon remembered “Homeward Bound” with George Harrison in 1976.
“I was not born at the time, and my parents either,” joked Carpenter.
Simon replied: “Well, I’m glad they are lucky to hear it tonight.” The duo then played the song, with Carpenter saying to the public at the end: “Live from New York, it’s Saturday evening!”
