Chicago’s on-screen police force has temporarily lost a member.
Patrick John Flueger-who plays Office Adam Ruzek in Chicago Police– takes a step back from the filming of the current 13th season, several media reported.
This sudden and unexpected leave is reportedly due to a personal matter, and Patrick is expected to return later this season. No further details have been confirmed.
E! News has reached out to Patrick’s representatives as well as NBC for comment, but has not yet received a response.
Patrick has been a part of the NBC series since its first season in 2014, with his character becoming a vital part of the intelligence team. Throughout his time on the series, viewers observed his character’s friendship with fellow officer Kim Burgess (Marina Squerciati) blossom into an on-again, off-again romance, with the characters finally marrying at the end of season 12.
The on-screen couple also share daughter Makayla, who they adopted during season 8.
