Sri Lanka failed to reach the Asian Cup final 2025
Sri Lanka was eliminated from the final race of the 2025 Asian Cup after their bad performances in the first two games on the Super Four scene.
The Lankan Lions dominated the group B table in the group phase and recorded three consecutive victories on Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Hong Kong.
However, their shape took massive success at the start of the Super Four stage of the continental tournament. They faced a shocking loss of 4 gates against Bangladesh in their first super 4 game in Dubai.
Beating the first in the match, the team led by Charith Asalanka could only mark 168/7, on the brilliant half-century of the old skipper Dasun Shanaka. Then, defending, Sri Lanka picked up counters at regular intervals, but Bangladesh managed to chase the target in 19.5 overshots with 4 counters in hand.
In their second match to be made or to make, Sri Lanka faced Pakistan and posted bad stick performance. They only succeeded in scoring 133/8, and even after taking the first counters with the ball, the Lankais lions allowed men in green to finish the race race in 18 overshots with 5 counters in hand.
